Being a work-at-home mom (WAHM) is really, really tough. It’s not hard to feel extremely isolated and lonely when you’re at home all day with your kiddo, trying to balance parenting and work. In late June I discovered the wonder of Stroller Strides.
Now let’s be real here. I wasn’t getting ANY formal exercise prior to joining Stroller Strides. Instead, I was at home with Henry, editing photos, fulfilling orders, going to the park and making lunch. There wasn’t time to work out, was there? Turns out, there was. Now I’m working out 4-5x/week and absolutely love it. I personally never thought I’d say that I loved working out, but I really do!
I cannot even begin to tell you the difference Stroller Strides has made in my life. I’m finally around other moms on a regular basis and I’m getting a great workout 4-5x/week. The effect on my mental and physical health has been incredible. Not only am I down 10 pounds as of this morning (wohoo!!), I’ve also made some great friends.
If you’re reading this from your home office, or even from your couch while your kid plays with blocks, and you’re looking for a way to get some exercise and make some friends, I can’t recommend Stroller Strides highly enough. And if you’re in Kirkland or Bothell, join my class! Hilary, our instructor, is funny, motivational and genuinely cares about the moms and kids in her group.
Here are some photos of the moms and kids in our Stroller Strides group who have become great friends:
