The story of how I came to work with Andrea and Russ is too crazy not to share. You may remember Lindsay and Mark’s wedding. I have actually known Lindsay since kindergarden! Lindsay now plays kickball with Andrea and Russ and passed along my name. At our consultation, Russ walked in and I realized that I worked with him (in another life) when I was the office manage of a small company in Pioneer Square. Weird coincidence, right? It gets weirder! At our engagement session we were talking about where Andrea works, which is a popular bar downtown. I turned to Russ and said “Didn’t a bunch of us from work go to that bar on its opening night?”. Turns out that’s the night he met Andrea. And I was there. Yeah, I think we can say I was fated to shoot this wedding.
What a fun engagement session! We were at Golden Gardens on possibly the busiest day in the park’s history. We did our best to avoid the crowds, and I can’t even tell you how excited I was to involve Russ’ two sons in the shoot. Having a son myself, I think boys are awesome. They were ready to climb trees, balance, jump – you name it. And Russ and Andrea were perfectly in love and extremely photogenic. Slam dunk of a shoot? I think so.
Anyone who’s been shot by me (ha) can attest to the fact that I’m shooting even in the moments of transition. Sometimes you get hilarious gems like this one, which makes it all worth it:
How cute are these boys?!
