I’m so excited to share with you the wedding of Rebecca and Grant. This was one truly magnificent wedding. I think the recipe for a perfect wedding is: one couple who loves the heck out of each other + two spectacular venues + details up the ying + fun loving friends and family. Rebecca and Grant had all of those things, and more.
Rebecca’s Luly Yang wedding dress was truly breathtaking. I loved the asymmetrical beading detail.
Such excitement when the dress went on!
The pin in Rebecca’s veil has been worn by the women in her family for generations.
When Rebecca’s dad saw her for the first time it was such a tender moment. The tears in her dad’s eyes when he saw his baby girl in a wedding dress brought tears to MY eyes!
Walking from the hotel to the church was so much fun. Rebecca received all kinds of fanfare, as any bride on her wedding day should!
Ben was mighty proud of this candle shot, taken inside the church. I agree with him!
Grant and Rebecca decided to see each other before the ceremony for photos, but wanted to have their first look feel as it would if it happened during the ceremony. Rebecca’s dad escorted her into the church, where Grant was waiting at the altar. A powerful moment, for sure.
This was the first wedding to ever take place at Christ Our Hope! How exciting is that? The inside was so gorgeous for photos.
A few fun, lighthearted formals before the ceremony and then…… go time.
Oh, what a church.
Next we did some photos around Sodo Park. The light was delicious.
I want to know what wedding photographer is responsible for this grafitti. Clearly it HAD to be someone from the wedding industry. Who else would tag the word “bride” over and over? (And P.S. – I’m not complaining!)
In lieu of a wedding cake, Rebecca and Grant had PIE! I love it when couples branch out and do something a little different (although I do loooove wedding cake…)
The grand entrance! Rebecca surprised Grant with a bagpiper, who escorted them to their table.
The florals, done by Maxine’s, were beautiful. I adore ranunculus… especially white ranunculus. And hello bokeh!
A little dancing fun.
A little into the reception I stole Rebecca and Grant away for some more photos in the dusky light. I couldn’t get enough of them outside in front of the room where the best party of their lives was happening. They kept looking back into the room with such awe on their faces, as if they were thinking “Wow. It’s really happening!”
First dance to the tunes of the wonderful Michael Benson Band, who truly kept the party rocking all night long. They even sang Beyonce! And Black Eyed Peas! No, I’m not kidding!
A twirl around the dancefloor with Dad.
Oh, what a party! Favorite:
